As Managing Partner at deChase Miksis, Mark has overseen a variety of notable projects that emphasize sustainable design and community engagement. Recent key developments include Flock13, 1059 Willamette, and Crosswood in Eugene, as well as Strata in Bend. These projects highlight Mark's dedication to creating spaces that balance aesthetic appeal, sustainability, and functionality. His leadership in these developments has delivered both financial success and high satisfaction among users, particularly through the integration of green building practices and thoughtful urban design.
Before joining deChase Miksis, Mark spent seven years as Director of Real Estate Development at Arlie & Company, where he oversaw the design and construction of the award-winning Crescent Village in Eugene, Oregon. Under Mark’s leadership, the company achieved LEED Platinum and Gold certifications for two key projects within this $80 million mixed-use urban village. His focus on green building and efficiency helped Crescent Village’s apartments achieve rental rates 30% higher than other luxury units in the area, maintaining vacancy rates below 5%.
Earlier in his career, Mark worked with Esherick Homsey Dodge and Davis Architects, managing large-scale institutional projects for the University of California, with a focus on research facilities and laboratories. He was also the project lead on the Debs Park Audubon Center in Los Angeles, one of the first buildings in the world to earn LEED Platinum certification.
Mark earned his degree in Architecture from the University of Oregon, where he has served as an adjunct faculty member and frequent design critic. He is a licensed architect in Oregon and a LEED Accredited Professional. His early hands-on experience in construction continues to influence his practical, real-world approach to development.
