LEED Silver Certified

Presbyterian Collegiate Ministry was deeply immersed in a project to develop student housing on its site close to the University of Oregon when the economic downturn in 2008 derailed its plans. deChase Miksis was hired by the Church to get the project back on track and locate a project sponsor that could provide the required financial strength and equity to enable the church to secure project financing. The project represents a unique partnership between a for-profit student housing developer and a non-profit religious institution that provides faith-based services to students.

This 45-unit  apartment building houses two, three and four-bedroom apartments and was designed with gathering spaces, recreational amenities, and ministry space that will allow students to foster their social, spiritual, and academic life while attending college. Located adjacent to the University of Oregon, this project was built in a dense urban area on a constrained site. Constructed for LEED Silver certification, it features low flow fixtures and efficient lighting. The building is five floors of wood framing over two PT decks, and includes one level of below grade parking.
