deChase was hired by 1410 Orchard Street, LLC to help facilitate acquisition and development of a new student focused mixed use housing project just east of the University of Oregon.
Courtside was developed to meet the growing student population in the new Arena District of the University of Oregon. The mixed use project sets a new standard in student housing at the university providing extensive student amenities with retail and housing achieving LEED Gold certification.
The building is a 5-story, 65,000 square-foot wood frame on a post tension concrete deck system. It features 47 apartments that house 172 bedrooms, along with a community room, study room and a green roof. The ground floor also includes retail spaces that include student-focused merchants.
Courtside was completed in less than 13 months including design, permitting, and construction. To meet this accelerated schedule the design, construction, and development team worked closely together with the City through each phase of the project.
